Mass of the Christian burial for Edna C. Schettler of Council Bluffs and formerly of Carroll will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at St. Patrick's Church in Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Schettler, 64, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.

The Rev. Raphael Masabakhwa, associate pastor, will officiate the Mass. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Council Bluffs. A wake service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Belford-O'Neill Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 6p.m. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

A daughter of Joe and Mary (Bauer) Langel, she was born in Carroll. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Templeton in 1954. She and Donald Schettler were married for 44 years and Mrs. Schettler lived in Council Bluffs for 26 years.

Mrs. Schettler worked at the First National Bank of Council Bluffs and retired in 1996. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Alter Society.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Schettler, of Council Bluffs; two daughters, Nancy Payne and her husband, Mike, of Jefferson and Patti Bendgen and her husband, Bob, of Council Bluffs; two sons, Ron Schettler and his wife, Stacy, of Council Bluffs and Dan Schettler of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Yvonne Broich and her husband, Tom, and Berneta Broich and her husband, Clayton, all of Carroll; two brothers, La Vern Langel and his wife, Louetta, of Templeton and Elmer Langel and his wife, Imelda, of Aspinwall.
